External Processing Of Hot Die Forging
The friction press is the main hot die forging equipment from Cxin Forging Company. At present, the company has a die forging production line with 1600T hot die forging press, 1000T hot die forging press, 630T hot die forging press, and 400T hot die forging press as the main machines. The annual design capacity is 10,000 tons. The heating of the production line adopts an infrared temperature-controlled IGBT induction heating furnace.
The main types of forgings manufactured include auto parts, new energy vehicles, motorcycles, electric bicycle parts, mining machinery parts, agricultural machinery, forestry machinery, recycling machinery, engineering machinery, engines, and other high-quality forgings totaling thousands of types and weighing 0.2-20kg. The precision can reach the advanced international standard of hot precision forging.
What is Hot Die Forging
Hot die forging is a type of forging technology and generally refers to a precision forging method in which the metal blank is heated before forging. The metal blank is heated to a temperature higher than the recrystallization temperature of the material, and then it’s plastically formed into the shape and size of the forging.
Characteristics of Hot Die Forging
The die forging process has high production efficiency, low labor intensity, precise size, small machining allowance, and can forge forgings with complex shapes. The process is suitable for mass production. However, the cost of the mold is high, and special forging equipment is required, making it not suitable for single-piece or small batch production.
Hot Die Forging Process
The process of die forging is billet making, pre-forging, and final forging. The cavity of the final forging die depends on the desired size and shape of the forging, plus allowances and deviations. Die forging is generally divided into two types: open die forging and closed die forging.
There are burr grooves around the die cavity of open die forging, and the excess metal flows into the groove after forming, and finally, the burrs are removed. The closed die forging has only a small amount of excess metal flow at the end. If the blank is accurate, there is no need for burrs.
Advantages of Die Forging
- For the die cavity to guide the flow of metal, the shape of the forging can be more complicated.
- The forging streamline inside the forging is distributed according to the contour of the forging, thereby improving the mechanical properties and service life of the part.
- Simple operation, easy to realize mechanization, and high productivity.
